TikTok wants to move away from its formula of short vertical videos to make room for a new strategy. Not only does it want content creators to post longer videos, but it also wants to choose horizontal format. To encourage such change, it was implementing a new strategy.

TikTok wants original, longer and horizontal videos

We told you in an earlier article that TikTok invites some content creators to create videos up to 30 minutes long. Right now, this is just a test, but it actually allows us to see what the platform’s new strategy looks like.

However, the length of videos is not the only change TikTok wants to implement in content. As some users have reported, TikTok encourages people to upload videos in horizontal format to the app with the promise of “enhancing views.”

You can see an example of these messages shown by TikTok in screenshots shared by Matt Navarra. TikTok’s suggestion is simple: If you post more than one-minute videos in horizontal format, you may get more views and thus earn more.

However, there are some additional requirements that you must meet. For example, this option is available to content creators who have been using TikTok for more than 3 months, and the content shared in the video should be original and respect community rules.

They may not be advertising or dubbed videos, nor may they be government accounts, politicians or political parties. Of course, increased visits will depend on some factors, such as the quality of video content and the number of followers the user has. However, theoretically, videos that meet these three requirements should be eligible.

As described in the description of the message, these videos will receive “big views” within 72 hours after their publication. One detail to consider is that it has not been stated whether these incentives are open internationally, or are only available in some countries.
