BYD launches its Yangwang U9 electric supercar

The Yangwang U9 immediately became one of the most powerful  vehicles on the market.

For about $ 240 thousand, you get one of China’s first electric supercars.

BYD claims that the Yangwang U9 accelerates at 100 km/h in just 2.36 seconds, thanks to four engines producing 1,287 horsepower with a torque of 1680 Nm.

This transmission kit can push the 2475 kg vehicle to a maximum speed of 310 km/h.

Unlike most luxury cars that use high-priced batteries, the Yangwang U9 relies on BYD’s affordable Blade iron phosphate lithium battery.

With a power of 80 kW, BYD claims a range of about 467 km, with a lower range expected in the real world.

The major problem with the lithium iron phosphate battery is its weight of 633 kg, which is about 150 kg heavier than that of Tesla’s Model S Plaid.

The Yangwang U9 aims to offer a comprehensive driving experience, as the smart DiSus X body control system provides an adjustable suspension system, adapted to different driving conditions.

The Yangwang U9 has the potential to walk sideways like an electric Hummer, rotating 360 degrees like a tank by shifting the wheels of one side forward and the other side backward, and even somehow driving on just three wheels, thanks to BYD’s height adjustable suspension.

BYD has provided the vehicle with an improved thermal management system, ensuring optimal performance even in difficult situations, while the fast charging system reduces 500 kW charging times. The supercar also supports double charging.

Safety is critical in the Yangwang U9, with a cabin made of supercarbon fiber and next-generation CTB technology.

This combination provides exceptional toughness and superior strength, protecting passengers in any situation.

The Yangwang U9 DiLink150 platform also offers a special driving experience, supported by advanced 5G chips.

The car features a special lane driving assistant that provides valuable information and support for aspiring contestants.

The car does not have a Lidar system, although it has the advantage of autonomous parking assistant thanks to the Advanced Driver Assistance System DiPilot.

The interior features two LCD-type screens with thick tyres measuring 10.25 inches, one placed in front of the driver and the other placed in front of the passenger with a 12.3-inch vertical third screen located in the middle as a central control screen.
