Google Drive Redesign

Google has announced a redesign of the start page of its Android and iOS cloud storage app, with the aim of facilitating quick access to files.

In this context, the use of card style was abandoned in the tab of Suggested proposed files, where the preview appeared small and non-distinctive.

Instead, Google decided to replace this method with a menu to view more newly opened, shared or edited files, while showing recent activities such as comments and responses.

Activity tab has also been replaced with notification tab, following a similar approach to the modern web version. The activity tab uses the card method to display items of interest to the user, such as pending access requests, recent comments and pending approvals.

A new circular icon has been added as a camera over a new button, giving access to the camera and the possibility of scanning documents. And for those who don’t want to use the homepage by default, they can open the app on the tab last used.
